Congratulations to Mariano (Mono) Sommer on his book.

๐ŸŽ‰ Celebrating the Voice of Our History: Congratulations to Mariano (Mono) Sommer on His Book โ€œThe Untold Storyโ€

Mariano (Mono) Sommer

At World Betar, we are proud to celebrate those who, with dedication and passion โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ, choose to give voice to the essential chapters of our people’s history.
Today, we warmly salute Mono Sommer, Uruguayan Betari and renowned Zionist educational leader, for the publication of his book:
๐Ÿ“˜ โ€œThe Untold Story: Betar and the Jewish Military Organization in World War II.โ€

๐Ÿ“š We are honored to be part of the publication of this book. We believe it is an absolutely essential mission to invest in education and meaningful content for future generations ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ.

๐Ÿ‘ค Born in Uruguay and now an Israeli citizen ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ, Mono has dedicated many years to Jewish and Zionist education in both Uruguay and Israel.
He served as a madrich, head of the movement in Betar Uruguay, and later as the Educational Director of World Betar.
โœก๏ธ His commitment to memory and the unity of our people led him to create an exceptional legacy:
shedding light on the heroic role of Betar and Etzel fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, a story long marginalized in our collective memory ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ.

Inspired by his educational journeys to Poland ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ฑ and by the lack of recognition for the young Betar fighters he encountered there,
Mariano undertook the vital mission of giving them back their voice ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ.
His book is not only a tribute to the fighters of Betar, Etzel, and Lehi; it is also a call for historical justice โš–๏ธ and a strengthening of our unity,
especially now, in times when we must remember above all that we are one people โ€” Am Israel ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ.

Marianoโ€™s personal story, including his service in the IDF reserves during the difficult period after October 7 ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ, adds even deeper meaning to his message:
just as in 1943 the flag of Israel flew over the Warsaw Ghetto during the uprising, today too, from pain and destruction ๐Ÿ’”,
new heroes emerge ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ,heroes who inspire us to continue fighting for life, memory, and truth.

๐Ÿ“– โ€œThe Untold Storyโ€ is more than a book:

๐Ÿ”ง It is an act of restoration,
๐Ÿ“˜ a unique educational contribution in the Spanish language,
๐Ÿ“ฃ and an invitation to build a collective memory that is complete, honest, and inclusiveโ€”one in which no story of heroism is forgotten or cast aside ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

๐Ÿ… At World Betar, we proudly congratulate Mono Sommer on this remarkable achievement, which honors Betar, Zionism, and the entire Jewish people ๐ŸŒ.
As he teaches us, we commit to continuing the education of future generations with honesty, respect, and unity, so that our stories of heroism continue to beat in the heart of the Jewish people forever ๐Ÿ’™.

๐ŸŽŠ Kol Hakavod, Mono! Your work has already become a living, inseparable part of our history!
